Assessment of Chromogenic Media in Bacterial Fish Pathogens

چکیده

Accurate and quick identification of bacterial fish disease has great importance for effective control prevent economic loss in aquaculture facilities. Generally used agar media allow the growth wide-range bacteria but new chromogenic results colored colonies that lead to presumptive without requiring biochemical or serological tests. In this study, recently commercialized media; chromID® CPS® Elite, Elite / Columbia CNA +5% sheep blood agar, Vibrio, MRSA Smart Staphylococcus aureus (BioMérieux, France) were tested with performance colony coloration pathogens. detected most suitable culture grow all five isolated pathogens (i.e., Aeromonas hydrophila, Lactococcus garvieae, Pseudomonas fluorescens, Yersinia ruckeri Vibrio anguillarum). Of which, L. garvieae was only one observed green colonies. designed V. parahaemolyticus V cholerae dark pink/purple by anguillarum. The S. not incubation

Taxonomy of bacterial fish pathogens

Bacterial taxonomy has progressed from reliance on highly artificial culture-dependent techniques involving the study of phenotype (including morphological, biochemical and physiological data) to the modern applications of molecular biology, most recently 16S rRNA gene sequencing, which gives an insight into evolutionary pathways (= phylogenetics). The latter is applicable to culture-independen...

Evaluation of New bioMérieux Chromogenic CPS Media for Detection of Urinary Tract Pathogens.

Four chromogenic media were compared for their ability to detect urinary tract pathogens in 299 urine specimens, of which 175 were found positive, allowing the growth of 279 microorganisms. After 18 to 24 h of incubation, the CPS ID4, CPSE, CPSO (bioMérieux), and UriSelect4 (Bio-Rad) media showed sensitivities of 97.1%, 99.3%, 99.6%, and 99.6%, respectively.

How to Diagnose Common Equine Reproductive Tract Bacterial Pathogens Using Chromogenic Agar

The most common microbiological pathogens of reproductive tract disease in the horse are Streptococcus sp., Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Staphylococcus aureus, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The standard approach to the detection of these pathogenic bacteria is to culture the reproductive tracts of the mare or stallion. One or more general purpose media such as horse blood agar (HBA) o...
